The Steppe Horse team is especially sensitive to the conservation of Mongolian fragile natural landscapes. With this in mind, we have designed most of our trips, especially trekking journeys, with the minimum possible vehicle support. Since time immemorial, Mongolian nomads have moved about with pack animals. Depending on the region, terrain and selected itinerary, we use pack horses, pack camel, camel cart or yak cart. Once you are supported with this traditional transportation it gives you the freedom to trek into the more remote wilderness areas and see a side of Mongolia few others ever will. Not only do these hardy animals provide an interesting and relaxing way to travel, but your rental from local people directly supports the economy of nomadic communities.
